H. C. R. 27--"Requesting the Joint Committee on Government
and Finance to make an interim study of current trucking
regulations and the need for, feasibility and effect of,
adjusting the same."
Whereras
The Legislature has received numerous requests for
legislation regarding the regulation of the trucking industry in
the State of West Virginia; and
Whereas,
Investigation into these matters, public hearings
on the same, and various representations of all factions involved
reveal a need for an interim study on the trucking industry and
the feasibility and effect of adjusting regulations regarding
trucks operating in this State; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Joint Committee on Government and Finance is
requested to conduct an interim study to review and examine the
trucking industry in the State of West Virginia, the regulation
of such industry and the need, if any, for change or improvement;
and, be it
Further Resolved
, That the Joint Committee on Government and
Finance is requested to include in such interim study a review
and examination of the need for, feasibility and effect of
adjusting weight limits for trucks operating in the State of West
Virginia; and, be it
Further Resolved
, That the Joint Committee on Government andFinance report to the regular session of the Legislature, 1994,
on its findings, conclusions and recommendations, together with
drafts of any legislation necessary to effectuate its
recommendations; and, be it
Further Resolved
, That the expenses necessary to conduct
this study, to prepare a report and to draft necessary
legislation be paid from legislative appropriations to the Joint
Committee on Government and Finance.
